1. What is the Sport in Mind Virtual Challenge?

This is an inclusive 10 day virtual challenge in honour of World Mental Health Day (10th October). Participants aim to move 100 km during October (by walking, running, cycling, swimming, dancing, etc.) to raise awareness, encourage activity, and raise vital funds for Sport in Mind’s mental health programmes.


2. When does the challenge start?

The official start is 10th October (World Mental Health Day).


3. How long does the challenge run?

The challenge will be love for 10 days: 10th – 19th October.


4. Can I join after the start date?

Yes, you can join at any time during the 10 day challenge. Please note: the later you join, the less time you have to complete 100km, so earlier is better.

6. Can I take part solo or with others?

Yes, you can join solo, or form a team of up to 4 people.

· Teams share one fundraising page (see below).

· Each person on the team tracks their own distance through their chosen method.


7. Can I join multiple teams?

Yes, you can join multiple teams if you wish, for example, with your workplace, running club, and family. Please note: each team will have its own fundraising page and minimum fundraising target, so you’ll need to meet that target for each team you join.


8. Which fundraising platform should I use?

· You can create your fundraising page using GivenGain

· Each team or individual gets one fundraising page.


9. Do I need to wait for the GivenGain page to be active before I share or promote my challenge?

Yes, the fundraising page must be officially set up and live on GivenGain before you share the link with friends, colleagues, or on social media. Before that, the link will not work.


10. What is the minimum fundraising target?

The minimum fundraising amount is £50 for each participant.


11. How do I track my 100 km (or other distance)?

Sync via fitness apps: you can link your preferred fitness tracker/app in the Race At Your Pace app, so your activities sync automatically.

Accepted sync integrations include (but may not be limited to):

· Strava

· Connect Powered by Garmin

· Apple Health

· Fitbit


12. Can I manually add distance if I don’t use a fitness app?

Yes, manual logging is fully supported. You can manually enter your distance in the Race At Your Pace app or web interface.


13. How is the challenge tracked / what counts as “evidence”?

· Each logged activity, either via sync or manual entry, contributes towards your 100km goal.

· Evidence is simply the activity record.

· The Race at Your Pace platform handles progress and evidence submission.


14. Where does the money raised go?

All funds raised will support Sport in Mind’s core mental health programmes, including:

· Supported sport sessions for people experiencing mental health challenges

· Group and community activity initiatives

· Outreach, wellbeing support, and maintaining access for those in most need

Your participation and donations will directly help us deliver these free services for vulnerable individuals.


15. What if I don’t reach the full 100km?

· You’re still welcome to take part, any distance contributes to awareness and shows your commitment.

· Your fundraising will still count, and your efforts are valued.

· We encourage everyone to push as far as they can, but we understand life happens.


16. Is there a deadline for completing the 100km?

Yes, the challenge runs from 10th – 19th October, so all distances must be logged by midnight on 19th October (or a specified date you set). After that, submissions will not count.
