Sport in Mind are proud to announce a new partnership between Sport in Mind and Rounders England, with the two organisations working together to develop a Mental Health training course for  players, coaches, umpires and committee members to raise awareness and drive education of the power of sport and physical activity for positive mental health.

This training is designed to support better understanding around mental health and explore ways to promote a positive, inclusive environment within the rounders community. The two organisations will be working collaboratively to highlight the positive benefits of Rounders for improved mental health, part of which is the co-designed training course available on the Rounders England website.

Karen Harvey-  Director of development at Rounders England said: “We are delighted to team up with Sport In Mind to help bring their expertise on mental health and physical activity to the rounders community, ensuring we are trying to support all those involved in the sport.”

The announcement of the partnership coincides with #volunteerweek, and as a celebration of the incredible volunteers at Sport in Mind, Rounders England and Sport in Mind hosted a special event to celebrate not only the new partnership, but the incredible work our volunteers do to support our work- without them, so much of the service we offer to support people experiencing mental health problems would simply not be possible. A small way to say thank you to those who make such a big impact through the power of sport and community, and a great way to kick off our exciting partnership!

Neil Harris, Sport in Mind's CEO says: I am delighted to be announcing our partnership with Rounders England. As I often talk about, our priority as an organisation is to transform the nation's mental health through sport- and collaborations such as this bring us a step closer to doing just that. One of the things I am passionate about is community; empowering individuals within the sporting community to understand mental health and support people when they need it, but also celebrating the communities that make our service what it is. That's why I am so pleased to be announcing the partnership during volunteer week, and celebrating the volunteers within our community that play a vital role in the support we offer. Thanks you to our volunteers, and thank you to Rounders England for a great event!
