Sport in Mind goes to Downing Street Sport in Mind attends Downing Street for launch of UK Government’s Men’s Health Strategy Sport in Mind, the UK’s leading mental health sports charity, proudly attended the official launch of the UK Government’s Men’s Health Strategy at 10 Downing Street last night—a landmark moment in the national conversation around men’s wellbeing. The strategy, which aims to tackle the longstanding disparities in men’s physical and mental health, recognises the urgent need for early intervention, community-based support, and innovative approaches to engagement; principles that have been at the heart of Sport in Mind’s work since its inception. Neil Harris, Founder and CEO of Sport in Mind says: This is something we’ve known—and have been working towards—for a long time. Men’s mental health has too often been overlooked, and we’ve seen firsthand how sport can break down barriers, build trust, and change lives. To see this now reflected in national policy is both affirming and energising. We’re proud to stand alongside others in this movement and will continue to champion inclusive, accessible support for every man who needs it Sport in Mind delivers hundreds of free, peer-supported physical activity sessions each year, designed by mental health professionals and delivered in partnership with the NHS. The charity’s work has empowered thousands of men to take their first steps toward recovery, connection, and hope. As the Men’s Health Strategy takes shape, Sport in Mind looks forward to supporting its implementation and ensuring that sport remains a powerful tool in the nation’s mental health response.
